Captured! by Robots at the Earl

Wesley Crusher!

I saw an amazing show last night by Captured! by Robots. It was the opening performance of their 10th anniversary tour. Actually, "their" probably isn't the right possessive pronoun since it's only one guy -- the rest of the performers are robots.

The premise is that JBOT (the sole human) has been Captured! by Robots and is forced to perform in their band against his will. Hence the chains and disembowelment, see picture at right.

J Bot

In actuality, he built the animatronic performers (a refreshing take on "electronic music") to perform a selection of original songs -- several about Star Trek:TNG, including an anti-Wesley Crusher musical invective -- and a few well-chosen covers. I uploaded a collection of short clips to Vimeo.

It was a great show and I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords.

DUDE! Matt and I saw these guys in November '03 in LA and they were kickass! Really quite the scientific achievement if you think about it. :-)
