No more TXTing

Due to an enormous influx of spam sent to my cell phone, I called my provider and requested to have all text messages blocked. They were very nice and even voided some of the charges since the amount of spam was well over the 50 free messages I was alotted per month. I can deal with a certain amount of spam, but I draw the line when I have to pay 10 cents per message. Unfortunately, this means I can no longer accept legitimate text messages, so anyone wishing to TXT me will have to come up with an alternate means of communication (I recommend e-mail or an actual phone call).

Wow. I never get txt spam... weird. The phone company should filter that!

speaking of spam, do you actually ever make money off of your google ads?

that is so weird. i don't think i've ever received a txt spam. but it would bum me out. i would always think i was getting a nice txt and then it would be mean spam.

The worst part was that the messages would get split up, so each one would come as five TXTs. I started getting them after having a form on my site that let you submit a TXT via the web -- I've learned my lesson.

I got like 5 spam messages over the course of two days recently, but that's all I've ever gotten. I was worried that it might be the start of a deluge, but luckily it stopped.
